Game, set and match to Notifier

Notifier Fire Systems Engineered Systems Distributor (ESD), Powerpoint Electronics has been awarded the contract to provide fire protection at the new Wimbledon Tennis Museum.

Scheduled to open to the public in April 2006 and situated below ground level, the museum offers visitors state-of-the-art visual presentation, including walk-through interactive displays and a 200 degree cinema featuring live action from the Centre Court.

Some exhibits go back 450 years to the birth of the game, while more recent items include The Championships' trophies, unique film and video footage of great players in action and an extensive collection of past and contemporary equipment and other memorabilia.

The new fire safety installation, based on a Notifier by Honeywell ID3000 intelligent eight-loop fire alarm panel, has been completed and is now fully operational, providing full Level 1 protection and comprehensive void detection. It has been integrated with the existing Notifier intelligent fire system platform, installed in 2004, which protects the other areas of the Wimbledon complex.

The individual control panels are networked over 2.5km of fibre optic cable using Notifier's ID2net ultra high-speed Intelligent Digital Delivery Network, which transmits an alarm across the network in less than half a second.

In addition, the modular Notifier UniNet-ID incorporates advanced technology to provide a complete monitoring and control facilities management system, via an easy-to-use and learn graphical user interface.

Notifier by Honeywell is part of Honeywell Fire Systems EMEA, itself part of Honeywell International Inc., a diversified technology and manufacturing leader and the world's largest fire systems equipment provider.
